It's too easy for some people to mindlessly go about their daily life, totally forgetting there are brave men and women fighting in the most inhospitable of conditions, far away from family and friends, against an enemy who is contemptible and cowardly but absolutely ruthless. It's too easy for some to forget that brave soldiers die over there almost every day fighting to preserve the rights and freedoms so many take for granted. It's too easy to forget...unless you have someone you love over there. Then, it consumes your thoughts and dreams. Your cell phone is never far away from you and every time it rings you jump. You scan the news for even the slightest mention of activity in their area of operation. Sometimes your heart pounds so hard you can't get to sleep. Then, it's impossible to forget.
